So after we were done Trick or Treating Paul says, " you only wanted to do this so that you could eat Eva's candy". And I replied, "OF COURSE! People go trick or treating with their 6 month olds, do you think those babies eat it?!" Eva was a VERY good sharer. Haha
hi laura, i found this blog after seeing it posted under the info for the facebook prayer page for you guys... i think you know my husband manny better than you know me and i think i know paul better than you but hey, we are all franciscan's, right? :) i really felt it on my heart to write you, and tell you your story has touched me in many ways. the most definite, for sure, is that my younger brother was born with the same diagnosis your baby girl has been given. my parents were told he would never walk, would need special help the rest of his life, etc. my mom never took "no" for an answer and she believed in him more than any doctor and she prayed as hard as any saint. he has been through many surgeries and therapies, but my brother does walk, with acl braces and canes, but he does walk. he has a wheelchair for longer trips but he walks! he is a senior at franciscan this year, and the strongest person i have ever met. you and your family have a long journey ahead, but you look as prepared as possible!! i relate to your first (as a fellow "firstie") and can tell you, having a special needs younger sibling, the Lord watches over us and helps us... even helps us help our parents. our spirits are resilient! you and our growing family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

ReplyDeleteWe definitely brought our 6 month old trick-or-treating this year :) Too bad people thought he could eat goldfish and teddy grahams and we missed out on all the chocolate!
